POWERPOINT FOR EMAIL

Attach a PowerPoint to an email without the size error.

Training slides, sales decks and school presentations often pick up large photos and screenshots until the email service refuses the attachment. Timamu compresses a .pptx or .ppsx in your browser and saves a separate, lighter copy that is easier to attach, while the original presentation stays exactly as it was.

To email a large PowerPoint, open Timamu Web, choose the .pptx or .ppsx file, compress it and download the lighter copy. The work runs in your browser on your device and the original stays unchanged. Gmail allows attachments of about 25 MB, so set a target size when you need one.

Free compresses a .pptx or .ppsx presentation up to 100 MB. Premium compresses one up to 2 GB. For email, a target size can be set at no cost on a single PowerPoint file.

This guide covers one everyday job: getting a finished presentation under the attachment limit of an email service, so it can go to a colleague, a client or a teacher as a normal attachment instead of a sharing link.

Why a presentation gets too big for email

Every picture pasted into a slide keeps the size it had when it was added. Phone photos, full screen screenshots and logos copied from a website can each be several times larger than the slide needs, and a long deck can hold dozens of them. Embedded video adds even more.

Email services refuse attachments above their limit. Gmail's attachment limit is about 25 MB, and other services set their own limits, often lower for the person receiving the message.

Worked example: a weekly report deck for a manager

A team lead finishes a weekly report with photos from a site visit and screenshots of dashboards. The email app says the file is too large to send.

  1. Save the finished presentation as .pptx and keep it as the master copy.
  2. Open the PowerPoint tool on Timamu Web and choose the file.
  3. Set a target size if the email service has a known limit. For a single PowerPoint file this is Free.
  4. Start the job and wait while your device does the work.
  5. Download the lighter copy and give it a clear file name.
  6. Open the copy, move through every slide, then attach it to the email.

Checks before you press send

  • Read small text, tables and chart labels at full screen.
  • Look at photos and screenshots for soft or blurred edges.
  • Play any embedded video and the animations that matter.
  • Confirm the slide count matches the original presentation.

What to expect from the result

The result is a smaller file, not a promised size. A presentation made mostly of text and simple shapes has little to shrink, while one full of large photos has the most room. When Timamu cannot make a smaller file, the original is kept and the result says so. Embedded videos are kept as they are, so a deck with long video may stay large.

Questions

How do I make a PowerPoint small enough to email?

Open the PowerPoint tool on Timamu Web, choose the .pptx or .ppsx, compress it and download the lighter copy. Then attach the copy to your email.

Which PowerPoint files can Timamu compress for email?

Timamu compresses .pptx and .ppsx presentations. Free handles one up to 100 MB and Premium handles one up to 2 GB.

Does my presentation stay on my device?

Yes. Supported jobs are processed on your device, in your browser, and the presentation stays on your device.

Will the compressed copy fit every email service?

Not always. The result is smaller but not a promised size. Gmail allows about 25 MB, and other services set their own limits, so check the new file size before attaching it.

What happens to my original PowerPoint file?

It stays unchanged. Timamu saves a separate compressed copy, so you can keep editing the original.
